Aaliyah Dana Haughton burst into fame in 1994, after she released her debut Album Age Ain't Nothing More Than an number. Aaliyah Danahaughton was only 15 when the album became Gold. This collaboration was highly in the style of R. Kelly, and put the singer in the spotlight. In 1996, she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland on her second studio album One In A Million, which featured the #1 hit single If Your Girl Knew. After the debut of the album Aaliyah received international recognition as an R&B artist. In 2000 she starred in the romance and action film Romeo Must Die alongside martial artists Jet-Li. She got this role following an interview with director Joel Silver at an awards event. Queen of the Damned was her first film role in 2002. It is based off The Anne Rice novel. The Matrix Sequels saw her play Zee and appeared as a character in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) as well as The Matrix Revolutions that same year. The actress has also been featured in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy and Grey's Anatomy. The commercials she has done have been for prominent brands like Volvo. She lives in Los Angeles where she continues to perform as an actor.
