Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends Soul gospel Jazz and R&B with a distinctive mix. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta at present, Sunshine comes born in Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician by playing and singing at the local church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B musical scene. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer) approached her for the position of choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine came to national attention during four daily performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
