Donald Joseph Qualls, better popularly known as DJ Qualls is an American actor producer and fashion model. The actor gained notoriety for his work as a character in Road Trip he has since appeared in over 20 feature films, including The New Guy Hustle & Flow as well as The Core. Alongside his role with Road Trip he's played in over 22 television series such as Breaking Bad Supernatural Srubs Lost Law & Order & Others. Qualls has been fighting Hodgkin's Lymphoma when he was just 14 years old. After two years of treatment his cancer is now in remission. However, treatment at an early stage had severe effects on the development of his body and health. When he started acting, financial security was his ultimate goal. He was a victim of the poverty of his youth. He said "I've had a very low-cost lifestyle for so long that I'm looking for financial security because otherwise the world will feel out-of-control and that's not good for me." He looks back on his childhood and hopes to do something about the bullying. He believes that violence breaks his heart. The best role for DJ is that of a true father. The director admits that they do not want to cast him into those roles. In the future, he'd love to be a father himself as he is able to devote less time on his work and more towards his children.
